We would like to give a special shout out and thanks to Unni Gran from Skadesminke U.G. for coming down to ACN and helping create some pretty terrifying wound makeup for our haunted house this year. Your great work was definitely a factor to this year’s well-received haunted house. Thanks for sharing your talent and craft with our staff, faculty and students, we’re all beyond appreciative.
During this year’s fall break, American College of Norway students, faculty and staff went on a once in a lifetime Arctic expedition to Svalbard, Norway – Norway’s farthest northern territory! This exciting travel course was led by Dr. John Ross and this year’s ACN students got to explore Pyramiden, hike thousand-year-old glaciers and listen to educational lectures at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS)!
Another year, another incredible Homecoming Week filled with fun activities! Homecoming is a pivotal time at any American university institution and here at ACN, we aim to create the classic American Homecoming experience. Throughout the week we had fun dress up days, tasty treats, an American football game and a Masquerade Homecoming Dance!
Every summer we welcome students to the American College of Norway to take part in a four-week summer school program led by visiting faculty members. This summer was no exception and we had 20 students participate in the program where they took courses dealing with health, human rights and immigrant integration led by the UND Honors Program. UND student, Rachel Lantz reflects back on her time at ACN this summer and offers great advice for those thinking of coming to ACN for summer school in the near future. Thanks for the great article and advice, Rachel – we had a blast having you and your cohort at ACN this summer!
