With widespread student participation, American Horror Story inspired scenes and professional make up from Skadesminke U.G., this year’s haunted house was definitely a scary affair.

For those that were brave enough to enter ACN’s doors, visitors were greeted with a frightening video that help set the tone and theme of this year’s haunted house. Following the video, visitors ventured through many elaborate and scary scenes that were created and performed by our student body. Some of these scenes included an operation room inspired from American Horror Story that was complete with nurses and screaming nuns. There was also a deranged pig man scaring everyone who entered his room. By far one of the scariest moments of the haunted house was the horrifying trip down to ACN’s basement!

Olivia Øyna said, “My favorite part of the haunted house was getting to scare so many people! I also loved wearing the professional wound makeup. It was so detailed and looked so realistic.”

This horrifying tradition truly brings together the American influences of a traditional haunted house and the growing excitement of Halloween from the Norwegian public. With our yearly haunted house, ACN helps bridge American and Norwegian culture to create an authentic Halloween and haunted house for all and this year was no exception. Throughout these two horrifying nights, ACN welcomed nearly 400 people through its doors (many who didn’t make it through the entire haunted house!).

Overall, the haunted house is a fun event for both the public and students. This tradition brings together the whole student body and truly adds to the close and friendly atmosphere of ACN. Celina Alexandria said, “It was really fun working with the entire class to create such a scary haunted house!”

This haunted house wouldn’t be made possible without ACN’s Marketing and Activities Coordinator, Nick Favero who was truly the foundation of this year’s scary event. A huge thank you to Nick, all of our brilliant actors, the excellent tour guides and all those who visited our haunted house, you’re what made the American (College of Norway) Horror Story such a scary and successful  event. Now what will we do to up our game next year?!
