Adelphi student Sadaf joined the 2025 Summer School program at the American College of Norway, diving into a summer filled with fun academics, inspiring professors, and unforgettable field trips to Oslo. Alongside a group of adventurous classmates who spent their long weekends traveling and exploring, she experienced learning far beyond the classroom. Having the flexibility of 3 or 4 day weekends allowed me to explore more of Norway in my second weekend, going to Oscarsborg, a fortress island, and taking a day trip to Gotëborg, Sweden, which is only 3 hours out of Oslo!

My last weekend, I had the pleasure of going to Copenhagen, Denmark to see some family! With the guidance of Tonje (Summer School Coordinator at ACN), I felt no worries and she helped me navigate the experience as I went there solo!

Norway is the perfect place if you are new to solo traveling and want somewhere filled with nature, a sense of safety all around the clock, and socially aware. You can find budget friendly flights or train rides to neighboring countries and make the most of your experience!
