This year's Homecoming Week 2018 was a huge success thanks in part to ACN's Activities Committee. This dedicated committee of students came together to plan an unforgettable and eventful Homecoming Week that was full of fun dress up days, delicious snacks and a magical themed Homecoming Dance.

Homecoming Week has been a long standing tradition at ACN. In the United States, Homecoming Week is all about school spirit and there’s no better way to get the year started than to celebrate all things ACN with your fellow classmates!

This year we kicked off Homecoming Week with Pajama Day on Monday. ACN students sported their comfy pajamas, robes included and during the lunch break we kept the fun going with some slumber party snacks.

On Tuesday we had Throwback Day where students dressed up as younger versions of themselves. The halls were filled with looks from various decades and there were many pairs of overalls, pigtails and even school uniforms!

Wednesday we got sporty at ACN for Sports Day. Students wore everything from their favorite soccer and football teams to their gym attire. During lunch, there was a build-your-own nacho bar that was complete with homemade guacamole!

On the last day of the themed dressup days, we got all decked out in our ACN swag for School Spirit Day. To  end the week of classes and bring the class together, we had some delicious homemade cakes that were decorated with both the American and Norwegian flag.

Seeing we don’t have classes on Friday at ACN, we kept the fun going and went on a day trip to Oslo, guided by Nick. We visited the Opera House, had lunch at one of Oslo’s coolest new spots, Vippa, strolled up Karl Johan and ended the day at the harbor, taking in the picturesque fjord. The trip to Oslo was a great way to show our American students more of Norway and have the Norwegians explore new parts of the city.

Saturday evening was the most anticipated event of Homecoming Week… our “Once Upon a Time” Homecoming Dance! Our Activities worked diligently to transform the Student Activities Center into a real life fairytale. There were lights from floor to ceiling, decorative flowers on the walls and festive balloons covering the dance floor, not to mention a table filled with cake pops and cupcakes. Everyone dressed to impress and danced the night away. It truly was a “magical” evening.

Homecoming wouldn’t be complete without a football game! On Sunday we all headed to Nesparken and cheered on the ACNers who were playing in the football game, despite the rain!

A big thanks to everyone that helped put this amazing week together. Your hard work and determination definitely paid off and Homecoming wouldn’t have been the same without your drive and ambition. You are what makes ACN so great!
