“The best way to get involved in a student society is to interact with students and staff at an early stage in the semester. Like many other students at ACN, I didn´t know anyone when I applied and I quite spontaneously decided to join the two courses that the summer school provided. This decision became extremely important for me before entering ACN as a fulltime student. The beginning is always the most critical period, especially if you have to perform in a classroom in front of people you don´t know and not in your first language. Taking summer school at ACN gave me friends for the fall semester, a network of professional professors who I am still in contact with and a jumpstart into what was lying ahead of me for the next year. It made the summer vacation so much easier, since I could look forward to the semester, knowing what was going to meet me in the fall. I also think that it was important for the other students and staff to know what kind of student I am and what they could expect from me. Even though it was just for four weeks, it was four weeks that I look back on as a great experience. I recommend every prospective student at ACN to attend the summer school.”
